- Educational: Children love to visit the First White House.
- Proximity: Next to the Alabama Dept of Archives & History building, across the street from the Alabama State Capitol and the Alabama State House.

We encourage groups to visit, with a 40 person max size. We would appreciate a call in advance to avoid conflicting group tours. You will be welcomed by the receptionist who will answer any questions and provide a brief overview of the house and the times in 1861. Your group tour will be self-guided. We also offer individual and small group self guided tours and invite you to visit our gift shop.
As you can see in the aerial photo below, we are very close to the State Capitol, Dept of Archives & History, and the State House.
